Cookie Policy

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a short text file that a site asks your browser to keep. Some expire when you close the browser, others stay until they are deleted. Files kept in local storage work in much the same way.

2. Strictly necessary

  • Session cookie — proves that you are signed in. Without it the site cannot open your account, your adverts or your messages. It is encrypted and holds no password.
  • Language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) — remembers which language you chose last, so the next page opens in it.
  • Cookie-consent entry — records that you answered the banner, so it does not ask you again.

3. Preferences

  • Colour template and dark mode — kept in your own browser's storage so the site looks the way you left it.
  • Avatar cache — your own picture, held locally so it appears the moment a page begins to paint.

4. What we do not use

We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site profiling cookies and no third-party marketing pixels, and we embed no social-media trackers that follow you between sites.

5. Consent

Strictly necessary items are set without consent because the service cannot work without them. Anything optional is set only after you answer the banner, and withdrawing consent takes effect at once — you can withdraw it by clearing this site's storage in your browser.

6. Controlling cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking the session cookie will stop sign-in from working while leaving the board open to browse. Clearing this site's data removes your preferences and your consent, and the banner appears again.

7. Updates and contact

If the list of cookies changes we update this page and, where the change matters, we tell members. Ask anything else through the contact page or [email protected].
